It's Chow Time!

Emerson finally went for her 4 month check-up today. She's still in the 25th percentile for weight and height, coming in at 12 pounds 2 ounces and 23-1/2 inches long. The doctor wasn't worried about her weight because Emerson gets to start eating food today. She gets to start with rice cereal, prunes and pears...yummy! The doctor also suggested that I try to offer her a small amount of formula after I breast feed her...just in case she isn't getting enough milk from me. Emerson loves to eat so with her new food choices she might actually be considered "chubby" at her six month doctor's visit.

Emerson also received four shots today and she was a real trooper. She only cried after two of them, and she gave the nurse a big smile after she was done.

The doctor's visit was otherwise uneventful. I got questions answered like leaky diapers, bowel movements, etc. so I came out a little more educated.

Stay tuned for pictures of Emerson's first feeding! (It might be a few days, as I have a new camera and I don't know how to download my pics yet!)

Emerson is going to be quite the happy little girl with her new cuisine. Can't wait to see the pictures!
