Happy Halloween

Emerson isn't big enough to go trick or treating this year so we met AJ at our favorite breakfast cafe today. She can't wait until next year when Mommy dresses her up in an adorable costume. I think that Emerson was so excited about her breakfast date this morning that she slept better in her crib last night...she actually made it the entire night and only woke up for feedings. Keep your fingers crossed that it will happen again tonight.

The Crying Room

We attempted to get Emerson to sleep in her crib this weekend...what were we thinking? She lasted about 20 minutes on Friday night and maybe an hour last night. We tried to let her cry herself to sleep, but she would sleep briefly and then cry (or scream) again. Poor Cosmo was worried about her little sister...she had to peek in the crib to make sure sis was okay.

We decided to put Emerson in her crib this afternoon for a nap, and she did take a nice long nap with very little crying. We finally hung her butterflies (see above pics)this afternoon so I am hoping that tonight she will think she is in a butterfly garden and sleep peacefully. Keep your fingers crossed!

Growing Girl

We had our first month check-up today, and we learned that Emerson is up to a whopping 8 pounds 9 ounces. She's finally in the 10th percentile in weight. She's still a little on the short side, but that's to be expected since I am vertically challenged myself. We also got some tips for her gas problems and medicine for reflux so hopefully we will all be sleeping better soon.

Born to Shop

To celebrate Emerson's one month of life, I introduced her to the Fashion Mall today. As you can see from the pics above, she was excited about our trip to the mall. We didn't get to do any power shopping because I move a little slow with all the baby gear. Emerson got to spend some quality time in Pottery Barn Kids though, and we hope to go back soon to Janie and Jack and the other children's stores. I can't believe that I can go to the mall and not hit up Banana or any of my other favorite stores...I guess that's part of being a mom!

Look at Me, I'm Three (Weeks)

There isn't much new to report with week 3. Emerson has been sleeping a little better the last few nights so we have been able to get a little more rest. She's also growing because she finally fit into a newborn outfit...it's a little big but she's probably going to be petite like her mom and will always have a problem with the length of her pants!

We also had our first family outing to Dick's last night. We figured that we should introduce her to the world of fitness at an early age! Our next trip will be to the Fashion Mall so I can also introduce her to my favorite stores.
