Vocabulary

Emerson continually amazes Jim and me with her vocabulary and her increased use of three and four syllable words and putting them in sentences. It seems like she learns several new words a day and can repeat almost any word we say to her. Some of Emerson's new words include motorcycle (and she points them out every time we see one on the road), dandelion, elephant, and equipment.

The Pose

As you know from my previous posts and emails, I cannot get Emerson to sit still for a picture and most of my pictures are action shots. However, on Sunday morning, Emerson posed for a quick snapshot...I guess she was feeling good about going to Mass later that morning!

Pools of fun!

On Sunday, we filled up Emerson's pool and wondered if she would spend a whole 5 minutes in it. She proved us wrong...she spent nearly an hour splashing and playing and cried when she had to get out. She doesn't realize that she has many weekends of warm weather to play in it.

On a cute note...Emerson was trying to reach her flashcards on the kitchen counter tonight...when she realized she couldn't reach them, she said, "Mommy, Emmy can't reach cards." It's just so darn cute to hear her put words together and try to form sentences.

More Progress

Here's some recent pictures of our landscaping. We still need to buy and plant a few things around the sides of the house, but for the most part we are done with our yard until Phase 2, next summer!

Funnies

At nearly 21 months old, Emerson is at such a great age. She always has Jim and me laughing with her silly moves or funny stuff that comes from her mouth. I'm going to try to start posting some of the funny stuff she does or says.

Jim and I sometimes refer to Emerson as Emmy P which is short for Emerson Paige. Just recently, instead of calling her Emmy P, Jim called her Paige. Emerson looked at him and said with an attitude "I'm not Paige!" Oh boy, she's not a teenager yet and she's already talking back!
