Baby's First Mass

Throughout my pregnancy, Jim and I talked about joining a Church so that we could have the baby baptized once she was born. However, we were having a difficult time with the godparent thing so we kept putting it off. We finally decided on a Church and began attending this weekend...so Emerson went to her first Mass. We made sure we sat in the back, on an aisle, and near the door for a quick escape if needed. Luckily, Emerson slept like an angel the entire time. Now, we will feel comfortable taking her on a regular basis, and getting her baptized some time after Lent.

Emerson also had her first lunch date with Daddy this weekend. Emerson and I have been out and about many times but Dad was a little nervous taking her out to eat. When we were out and about on Friday, we both had a craving for Abuelos so we sucked it up and took her to lunch. Again, she was a perfect angel. I guess I'm going to have to shop and eat out a lot to keep her in a good mood.

More Smiles and Laughs

Emerson had her two month check-up today, at 10 weeks. She is up to 10 pounds 11 ounces and is 21 inches in length. I talked to the doctor about her spitting up excessively and the doc thinks she is just overeating. Maybe she's just a little piggy like her mom.

As for Cosmo, she is doing fine now. I think she only limped for a couple of days. Now, if we can just get her allergies under control...

Smile Captured

Emerson has been smiling for awhile but the smiles always stop once the camera comes out...however, today I was able to capture one of those smiles! Hopefully, there will be many more to come.

Grandparents Tire Baby

My mom and Larry came up this weekend to babysit for a few hours so Jim and I could have a date. Our date consisted of some errands and lunch at Changs. I couldn't stay away too long because I was afraid Emerson would cry the entire time. Grandma and grandpa got to see it all...crying, laughing and sleeping. Grandma found a solution to the crying...she would take Emerson into her closet and show her clothes and the crying would stop....that's my girl!

Emerson (and Cosmo) really loved her alone time with grandma and grandpa and can't wait for mommy and daddy to go out again!

Coming to Life

Emerson is 8 weeks old now, and she is really coming to life. I have noted many changes in the last few weeks. As one can see from her pictures, the most obvious change is the growth of her cheeks. They are so darn cute that I just want to kiss them all the time. Another big change is that she is starting to smile and coo a lot. I love it when she laughs out loud for no reason. I am just hoping that more of the cries will turn into smiles soon. She has also been sleeping less. I think if she realized how darn cute she is while sleeping she would do it more often. (see picture below....and don't worry about her sleeping on her belly....she was being watched).

I haven't talked much about Cosmo lately. She injured her leg on Monday night while trying to jump up on the ottoman. She has been milking her injury, and maybe it's even a fake injury for attention. While I was bathing Emerson last night, Cosmo limped into the bathroom to find out why her sister was having so much fun. I guess she wants to be near her sister no matter the amount of pain.
