Angel Wings

Emerson must have had damp hair when she went to bed last night because she woke up with angel wings. Daddy thought they should be brushed out, but the curls were so darn cute that I sent her to daycare with them sticking out.

The Shopping Cart Kid

We bought Emerson a shopping cart for her birthday because I thought she would like pushing it around and picking up some fake food. Well, she does like it, but she also likes to ride in it. Jim pushed her around the house in it on Sunday and we have done it a couple of times since then. Emerson just sits back and relaxes in the cart but then she throws a fit once you stop or take her out. I guess we need to find a new game that doesn't cause tantrums. We did find out this week that Emerson has been playing ring around the rosy at daycare because she was going in circles the other night and I started to sing ring around the rosy and she went faster. So, I asked the babysitter the next day and sure enough she had just taught the kids ring around the rosy. I will try to video her doing it but I don't know if I can handle my horrible voice on video.

The Birthday Party

Emerson had her first birthday party this weekend. She enjoyed spending time with our family and friends. We are grateful that we have so many wonderful people in our lives.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY EMERSON

It was one year ago today that my little precious angel came into this world. She came into the world crying, and she cried most of her birthday (well, at least when she was with me, anyway). The above photo was taken of her this morning crying because she had to eat a few puffs while her oatmeal was cooling. My girl cries over food more than anything else.

Emerson has been leading a busy life lately. In the last three weeks, we have been out of town two times for weddings and moved the other weekend. Mo and Em are both enjoying the new house, and Emerson is having fun walking circles in the downstairs and likes looking out the windows. I like having her toys spread out all over the place instead of piled high on our living room.

We are still trying to get settled in the house and get ready for Em's birthday party this weekend, but I promise that after this weekend I will start posting more pictures and updates.
