Tap Shoes

We went to Illinois for a wedding this weekend and we stopped and visited Grandma and Grandpa K. Emerson loved strutting her stuff at Grandma and Grandpa's house in her dress and black patent shoes. She usually doesn't like walking in shoes, but I think she liked the sound of walking on the hardwood floors. I think we need to buy her some tap shoes!

As for the wedding, Emerson was a good girl (most of the night anyway), and she was the life of the party, as always!

11 Months

Emerson turned 11 months old this week, and I completely forgot to blog about it until tonight. I should have remembered since I'm busy trying to plan her first birthday party.

Now that Emerson has mastered walking she is now learning to chill. She likes to lean against the couch and throw her arms out to the side (as you can see in the above picture). Jim always asks her if she's chilling so now she knows what it means. Unfortunately, she only chills for a few seconds at a time.

As for walking, Emerson is an ol' pro now. She can walk from the living room to the kitchen without using her walker.

Em's also getting lots of teeth. She has five showing and those two darn top teeth are taking their sweet little time coming in.

We have a busy month coming up with two weddings, a move and Em's birthday party so I may not be posting much until it's all over.

More Walking

It seems like Emerson's walking skills improve each day...not bad for a sick kid.

She can stand well too!

Emerson is also mastering her standing skills. She has to be getting some muscular legs with all her standing and walking.

Sick Baby

Poor Baby Em...she was sick all weekend. She ran a fever and slept most of the weekend away (except for waking us up in the middle of the night last night). Daddy stayed home with her today and took her to the doctor, and we found out she has a sinus infection. She is now taking antibiotics so hopefully she will be back to her feisty self in a few days.

P.S. Happy Birthday Uncle Jason. Maybe next year Em will be able to call you up on your birthday and sing to you!

Reminiscing

It's hard to believe that my baby shower was a year ago. And Emerson is going to be ONE before I know it. What a lovely little girl she is becoming.
