ABCs

Emerson surprised us this week with singing ABCs. Sometimes she misses more letters than others, but no matter how many letters she misses she has the cutest little singing voice ever.

My Little Bumblebee

Emerson enjoyed Halloween. On Friday, she had a costume parade at school, and she didn't seem to care that Jim and I were there. On Saturday, we walked around with Sonya and family, and Emerson held Katelyn's hand when Katelyn didn't want to walk up to houses. Emerson was afraid of a few of the costumes and scary decorations, but overall she had a great time. She really enjoyed watching a Great Dane wearing a pink t-shirt walk around the neighborhood...you can see evidence of this in the picture of her riding in the wagon...she was talking to the dog.

Fall Fun

After taking Emerson for a flu shot on Saturday, we decided to take her for something fun...to look at pumpkins. As you can see, she picked out the perfect little pumpkin. It is resting on our living room floor, and I cannot move it to a better location or I get scolded. We bought a large pumpkin for outside, and Emerson can't figure out why it's outside. She has asked me several times if it is wet!

Stay tuned for Halloween pictures. Emerson tried on her costume tonight and loved it, and she looked pretty darn cute too.

Playing Dress-Up

Emerson loves to play dress-up, whether it's wearing mommy or daddy's shoes, throwing on a hat, or slipping on a tutu. She has great fun with it.

Halloween is just around the corner, so I'm sure she will love her Halloween costume and being able to parade around school in it.

Best Friends

This is a picture of Emmy and her BFF, Kate Kate, playing in our back yard. Emmy has been missing her Kate Kate since she started a different day care last week. However, Em has a new Katelyn in her class and has already nicknamed her Kate Kate!

As for day care, Em seems to like it. She struggles with leaving mommy at drop off time, but she bounces back quickly and enjoys her day. Yesterday, Miss Sandie said "Yes, ma'am" to Emerson and Emerson replied, "Don't say yes ma'am...say e-i-e-i-o". She's pretty bossy and sassy when she wants to be.

Please note that the boots in the above picture were not part of Em's outfit. I bought the boots for her birthday and when she opened them she took off her matching sandals and put on the boots even though it was about 80 degrees outside that day!

The Party

Emerson had a great time at her birthday party last week...so much fun that she is still talking about it. When I picked her up from her new daycare on Thursday afternoon, the teacher told me that Emmy had been talking about her birthday party all week. I hope she gets that excited about her birthday parties when she's older and I'm spending tons of money and effort on them.

As for her new daycare, I think Emerson likes it. She cried at two morning drop-offs but she seems excited about it when we pick her up and she has been completely exhausted at night. She even talks about wanting to go to school. Maybe she would like it better if mommy could go to school with her!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Emerson!

My sweet baby girl turns 2 today. We are not doing anything too crazy today, but Emerson will probably request to swing, walk Cosmo and take a bath, as those are her favorite activities. We are going to have family over on Saturday for cake and ice cream. Emmy can't wait to celebrate!
